Welcome to my She OverStands Blog. The purpose of this blog is to continue the conversation and advocation on Domestic Violence Against Women, which continues to be a plague for women worldwide.

 

She Overstands is not "just a blog", it's a community of women's empowerment and support, a declaration for women, victims, and survivors, and an all-call to freedom.

I am a Woman, Mom, Survivor, and now an Advocate for Domestic Violence Against Women. After a 20-year private battle with domestic violence and chasing my freedom, I can finally say that I have achieved a level of healing that has allowed me to speak out about my journey.

​

Today and every day moving forward, I have chosen to stand publicly and tell my story boldly. After 20 years, I stand as a survivor, a voice for the voiceless, and an advocate for Domestic Violence Against Women. If it were up to the fearful and shameful me, I would have taken my story to the grave. The survivor in me somehow understands that my story is someone's gateway to freedom and could be the very thing that saves the lives of many women from ending up in a grave.

 So here goes...

For every woman, victim, and survivor waiting for your confirmation that you can be free, look at me, read my story, and be encouraged. It took me 20 years and a wake-up call to reclaim my freedom and normality of life. So this is me embracing courage and taking a stance out loud.

​

What was once immense pain and trauma has now transcended into purpose and triumph. My story is a testimony of what God can do. I am not sure where this journey will take me but I hope that my testimony falls in front of the right set of eyes, reaches the right set of ears, and is ultimately accepted as a statement of hope that leads to a segway of freedom for victims to turn survivors.
